Max’s Place Story

I am sure our close friend’s already know and some have commented on it. As we get to know all of you, it will become obvious that we are crazy dog people. My wife Elaine, and I spent many years traveling the States while in the field of Construction as a Senior Superintendent. While doing so we set up temporary homes as I worked at job sites. This all before winding down and taking a position in Atalanta, GA, we then built our home here in Heard County. With that being said, one afternoon while killing time in Mandeville, LA we visited the local dog pound and came across a scraggly looking creature with an under-bite that made it hard not to crack a smile. A black and white rat terrier that was eager to take a ride in the truck, so we drove around the block without incident and went straight back to the pound and said, “We will take him”! That’s when Max’s adventures began. Max began a life full of spoils like no other! He ate better than most humans did and enjoyed the finer dog things in life. He traveled the Country for over ten years with us. He enjoyed everything from his own beds in hotels to a fluffy dog bed in every room in our house. He’s seen us through everything in life, including good and bad times. Max was my sanity through a victorious battle against cancer and never left our sides. He truly did live a great life. A little over a year ago our family went through what many others have endured, but for us was one of our toughest times ever…. we lost Max! Of course we have other fur family in the form of four Blue Healers. Yes I said “CRAZY” dog people! Lol! But, not a day goes by that we don’t think about Max. With that being said we felt it only appropriate to name our dream after the guy that was with us the entire time we worked toward’s achieving it! MAX’S PLACE!

We truly thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you as our guests! Thank you!
